Beaulieu Road Pony Sales

The Beaulieu Road sales yard is used by locals of the New Forest to sell their ponies by auction, a tradition which has taken place for over 60 years. Get an insight into this wonderful event on 16th September.


The New Forest Marathon

For the sporty among us, the New Forest Marathon begins just half an hour’s drive away at New Park Farm in Brockenhurst on 13th September and offers 4 race options for 2015; Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Advertiser & Times 10k and 5k. All routes glide through the heart of the New Forest National Park. The multi-terrain courses offer some of the most scenic running experiences in the country.

Ringwood Carnival

Almost on our doorstep you’ll find the Ringwood Carnival winding its way through our streets on 19th September, filling Ringwood with fun and laughter. The afternoon procession is followed by fireworks in the evening with plenty of workshops, street demonstrations, food and charity stalls to keep you busy throughout the day.

Getting Around

Staying without any transport? You needn’t miss out. Our new and improved transport service includes better routes between Southampton and Lymington, via Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst, upgrading the existing Bluestar 6 bus. Extra Sunday services have been added and there are great value day tickets.

Sail the Seas

Wightlink ferries connect the New Forest with the Isle of Wight between Lymington and Yarmouth. Making the onward journey particularly easy, Lymington Pier rail station stands right beside the ferry.

Hythe Ferry links the vibrant waterside community of Hythe with Southampton’s train, bus and coach networks, shopping centres and nightlife. In the summer, the Beach Bus and New Forest Tour green route serves Hythe, Beaulieu, Lymington and many attractions in between.

From Keyhaven quay to Hurst Castle couldn’t be simpler, just hop on the little ferry. It operates every 20 minutes (weekends only during winter months, weather permitting, 10.30am – 4pm). The New Forest Tour blue route connects to Keyhaven during the summer.
